This Saturday was the American Model Photo Shoot, in San Marcos, Texas, held at the Embassy Suites Hotel. It was my first time ever, to actually shoot in a set, and boy was that an experience for me. A great experience at that. There were about 20 models, 18 females and 2 males. They did a great job in posing and just bearing with the many (around 80+ photographers) asking them to pose they way they wanted them to. Also a special thanks to SIGMA Lens, for letting us use some of their awesome lens. They also had a station, where we could try out their SD-1 camera to take pictures of a model. It's a great camera and if you ever get a chance to try it out, take advantage of it.
This is a great way to learn how to take portraits for all the photographers out there, whether your a pro, amateur like me or just love to take pictures, there were pros there to give you tips on your camera settings.
Leslie Aldrich, a professional fashion photographer was there to give us tips and tricks on taking portraits, from the pose, to the composition and choice of clothing. For the little time she had to spend with us, she covered a lot of grounds.
Here are some of the pictures that I took that day, I used the Sigma 50-150 f2.8 lens and the 70-200 f2.8 also.
The first picture is from the Sigma station using the SD-1 and with the 70-200 lens.

New Born and Family
This weekend I also got to take pictures of our friends newborn baby. My brother in law was right, the house needed to be fairly warm in order for the baby to stay asleep. He knew, he's got new twins, LOL. The little guy would not stay asleep cause he was cold, but I got in a few good shots. Here is one of them.

So football season has started and Saturday was the first college game. What a great way to start off the season with the University of Texas, Austin Longhorns winning their first game. Every time that they win a game, the tower lights up in orange.
White Rabbit Photography was with me taking shots of the tower early in the morning. Even though it was early people were still walking around, this was around 6 am. Tailgaters all over and around the campus, it was a sight to see.
Here is a picture of the tower taken during the blue hour. I wish I would have exposed my shot to the clock, so I would have gotten the details to the tower, but this will do for now. There are many more games to come and many more wins. GO HORNS!!!!!!!!!
